GHOUL HUNTER
DESCRIPTION
Ghoul Hunter is a third-person action/horror game set in a dystopian world where undead monsters known as Ghouls roam. As the Ghoul Hunter, you are responsible for tracking and hunting down these monsters. The game heavily relies on stealth as a core mechanic, and the enemy AI responds to stimuli in the environment, such as object movement and sound volume.
ROLE: DESIGNER AND PROGRAMMER
Ghoul Hunter was a solo project developed over a two week period. I handled all programming and design using C# and Unity. Art assets were open source and integrated into project by me as well. Features I built into the game include my own third person controller, animations controllers for all characters, and the AI for the enemies. The enemy behavior is programmed to follow paths that can lead to "jump scares" for the player. So enemies will travel underwater and hide in buildings before continuing to move. The players behavior such as movement speed, use of firearm, and visibility will determine if the enemies switch from patrolling to hunting the player.
